Gearing Supervisor Description
We are looking for a Gearing Supervisor to lead continuous improvement efforts at the
plant along with leading the creation of manufacturing processes. Developing designs that will
meet or exceed customer requirements for their given application. Given inputs from the
customer, the Gearing Supervisor will evaluate current gear system and make required changes
for optimized short and long term performance, guaranteeing proper tooth geometry,
tolerances, wear and strength performance.
Once the design is established the Gearing Supervisor provides programming or change
gear data to the gearing personnel for the manufacturing of the gear. Machinist experience in
setting up and operating precision CNC gear equipment along with required inspection
equipment. Communication skills, safety and maintenance of an organized and clean work
environment are a must.
And is a professional who manages and implements the gearing processes of the
company to ensure the proper execution of products and our customer’s satisfaction. Also,
provide reports on quality metrics to the other members of the management team. To perform
this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability
➢ Recommend and implements improvements to existing manufacturing
operations, equipment and procedures
➢ Identify and coordinate best practice implementation
➢ Present manufacturing plans to the Senior Management for approval
➢ Evaluate and verify manufacturing processes, procedures, equipment and
tool designs completed by peers
➢ Investigate, analyze and recommend new and/or alternate equipment and
manufacturing methods
➢ Read detailed part blueprints and customer gear data in order to program
manual and CNC gear cutting equipment
➢ Operate CNC gear equipment to achieve required dimensional and quality
➢ Procure equipment and tooling per project plan and standards
➢ Use software packages to evaluate gear mesh performance
➢ Work on continual improvement efforts for gear engineering processes
➢ 3—5 years: Gearing experience on manual and CNC Bevel and Cylindrical
➢ Shop scheduling of Production orders

❖ Assembly
❖ Welding
❖ Solid Modeling experience
❖ Experience with green machining (Turning, Milling, etc.)
❖ Understanding the capabilities and limitations of machine tools
❖ Possess the ability to define specifications for automation in support of
manufacturing operations
❖ Project Management skills to define, track and report on project status
❖ Good decision making and communication skills
❖ Ability to grasp new concepts
❖ Ability to maintain company Confidentiality
❖ Ability to multi-task
❖ Good analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
❖ Proficient with computer operations and applications: MS Office — Excel,
Word, Outlook, Access, basic CAD skills, Gear Software and ERP applications
❖ Ability to work both independently and in a team environment along with all
levels of management
➢ Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, blueprints,
correspondence and memos in English. Ability to write English
correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to small group
situations and to management and company employees
➢ Require a comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles, methods and
various processes, tools and related manufacturing equipment and quality
production methods.
➢ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
❖ Minimum 3 years of experience in Manufacturing Environment
❖ Tool Design experience a plus
➢ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to
sit and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
➢ The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and talk or hear.
➢ The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
➢ Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability
to adjust focus.
