Nurse Practitioner or Physician

**This position is located in Norton, KS***

Valley Hope of Norton is growing and we’re now in search of a Nurse Practitioner or Physician to join our team on either a contract or permanent basis. This position will require 10 hours per week and the ability to take calls.

The successful candidate will be licensed to practice in the state of Kansas and will be Suboxone certified (or willing to become certified).

-Oversees the medical services for the residential treatment and extended care facilities including detox, residential, and extended care patients.
-Ensure that medical treatment provided and medications prescribed in emergency situations follow protocols (i.e., convulsions, suicides, Delirium Tremens, etc.).
-Participates in facility performance improvement activities and leads efforts specific to medical nursing services and improving nursing care quality. Collaborates with facility management staff to identify and implement improvement activities across the facility.
-Maintains appropriate standards of patient confidentiality; adheres to all policies and procedures regarding patient information protection, HIPPA, and 42 CFR regulations.
-Leads effort to build the skills and competencies of the nursing staff as needed to meet minimum requirements as specified by customary standards of nursing practice, external accrediting agency guidelines, and internal organizational guidelines.
-Ensures effective communications between the medical department and all other clinical and support-service department.
-Maintains and demonstrates a current working knowledge of nursing procedures and substance abuse treatments in accordance with company policy and State and Federal guidelines.
-Maintains and coordinates with facility team the use of MAT Therapy and follow up care post treatment.
-Maintains a current working knowledge of trends within substance abuse treatment industry and with State and Federal regulatory requirements and guidelines.


-Unrestricted license to practice in state of employment.
-Work experience with healthcare accreditation with preference within the substance abuse treatment industry.
-Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
-Buprenorphine Certification within three months of employment


-Residential treatment facility and extended care setting; requires walking throughout the facility.
-Direct contact with patients.
-Must be able to work non-typical hours including evenings and/or weekends based on operational needs; able to be on-call as needed.
-Able to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time.
-Able to push, pull, pull up, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, grasp other items with hands, for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the workday.
-Able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and able to assist an adult weighing 100-250 pounds.
