The Safety Specialist can be located in Great Bend or Garden City (Great Bend is preferred).
Use your experience in the practical implementation of safety and compliance (including OSHA and DOT).
Enhance Sunflower’s safety program by conducting site audits, inspections, and investigations.
Join a cohesive safety team while improving safety culture at Sunflower.
Use your creativity in developing interactive and informative safety meetings and trainings.
Engage with Sunflower’s member-owners and other co-ops in outreach efforts.
Attain certifications including first aid, CPR, Red Cross, hearing testing certification, and more.
Take advantage of the competitive wage and benefits package Sunflower has to offer.
Two-year post-high school technical certification in safety, safety and health, loss control, or a related field and five years utility or industrial safety experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, NFPA, and other applicable safety regulations, policies, practices, and procedures.
Experience with developing and presenting trainings preferred.
Experience with human performance or behavior-based safety programs preferred.
