Now Hiring: Lead Substation Technician! Join our substation department where you will use your craftsmanship for maintenance and installations on high voltage electrical substations.
Sunflower Electric Power Corporation is hiring a Lead Substation Technician in Dodge City or Garden City, KS. With this opportunity you will provide leadership and coaching to employees, while working on transformers and other mechanical and electrical components of transmission substations. Enjoy traveling our service territory as you assist with the inspection, installation, testing, maintenance and repair of electric transmission and distribution substation equipment including power transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, and various electrical and electronic systems with most duties involving working with circuits between 48 and 600 volts.

Qualifications:
Two year post high school technical certification in industrial electrical, instrument and control, or electronics and four years electric utility substation experience and two years’ experience as a journey substation technician with increasingly responsible duties.
Completion of a recognized substation apprenticeship program is preferred.
