Sunflower Electric Power Corporation, a generation and transmission utility, is seeking a Transmission Asset Management Field Specialist. Transmission Asset Management is an expanding department that plays a key role in tracking the health of Sunflower’s transmission system by providing guidance on maintenance, asset performance, and compliance. You’ll enjoy traveling our service territory to conduct crew visits during projects and scheduled maintenance, gathering health data on transmission equipment, and acting as a liaison between engineering and operations. We are seeking a candidate that exhibits strong initiative, ability to collaborate, and a solid background in electrical, I&C, power lines, or electronics. Position can be located in Colby, Concordia, Great Bend, or Garden City, KS.

Two-year post high school technical certification in industrial electrical, instrument and control, power lines, or electronics and four years experience in industrial electrical, instrument and control, power lines, electronics, substations, metering, or substation protection and automation, or journey level technician having completed an apprentice program in lines, substations, metering, substation protection and automation; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Transmission experience preferred.
