Incredible Years Preschool Lead

Position Summary:

· Provide preschool instruction for assigned class at Incredible Years Preschool and assist the Manager of Preschool Services with additional classes.

· Manage the day to day operation of Incredible Years Preschool services as defined by KDHE childcare licensing regulations in the absence of the Manager of Preschool Services

· Participate in the semi-annual Parent/Teacher meetings
· Complete yearly trainings without supervision to improve your expertise in Preschool Education
· Work diligently at all times and exercises initiative when appropriate
· Is punctual to work and scheduled meetings
· Plan ahead for time off when possible to ensure duties are covered
· Respect the confidentiality of children and families
· Constantly look for ways to improve yourself, other team members and the agency
· Provide other teachers with support as needed/requested
· Demonstrate willingness to share ideas and workload

· Serve on committees as needed for EEC and SDS

· Ensure EEC is necessarily covered in lieu of absences of other building staff
· Attend meetings and training as directed by supervisor

· Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Since this is a dual responsibility position, the salary is reflective of those dual responsibilities.  If at any time the Manager of Preschool Services determines that both roles responsibilities can’t be fulfilled, the salary will be adjusted down to reflect the adjusted responsibilities.

Physical Requirements:

· Regularly required to stand, kneel, stoop, squat, sit, talk, walk, and hear

· Frequently required to reach with hands and arms and use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, manipulate tools and grasp objects

·  Ability to listen and remember information

·  Ability to speak clearly

·  May be required to lift up to 50 pounds

·  May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases


·  High School Diploma/GED

·  Associates in Early Childhood Development or Preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred

·  Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a licensed Early Childhood Education or Special Education for toddlers and preschoolers setting

Working Conditions:

·  80% indoors; 20% outdoors

·  May have high noise levels due to classroom activities, telephone calls, walk in parents, or other agency business

·  Temperatures will reflect seasonal changes at outdoor sites and attempts to maintain comfortable temperatures will be made at indoor sites

·  Must follow assigned work schedules that typically reflect hours Monday-Friday but schedules and hours vary based on need

·  Employees are expected to remain flexible and cooperative.
