Scott County Hospital is seeking a Full Time Medical Laboratory Technician with a $5,000 Sign On Bonus. Responsibilities of the position include performing all tests offered by Scott County Hospital; maintaining quality control standards with each test, with responsibility of

recording Quality Control Data; and recognizing common technical problems and methods to correct them. Ideal candidate must have knowledge of proper methods of reporting lab results and paper work involved; be able to operate LIS and do minor troubleshooting for the system; be familiar with normal ranges for tests or where to find them, making sure inadequate specimens are rejected; and have familiarity with all policies and procedures. Medical Lab Technologist/Scientist will also perform venous blood draw. May work weekends or evenings on call depending on staffing needs. Associate degree (or equivalent) in Medical Technology, with coursework in Chemistry and Biology or related clinical degree. Must hold or be eligible for registration (ASCP MT, AMT, MLT or equivalent) as a Medical Laboratory Technician, with demonstrated ability in laboratory procedures and instrumentation.
