Scott County has an immediate opening for a full time EMT. This is an emergency response position with the general responsibility to provide emergency care, care and transport for sick and injured patients, and promote education and awareness of emergency care procedures. This position is under direction of the EMS Director. Essential duties include but are not limited to; responding professionally to emergency calls for ambulance service to provide basic and advanced life support care to injured or sick patients, including emergency vehicle operation, administer prescribed first-aid treatment at site of emergency or in a specially equipped vehicle, communicate with medical personnel regarding patient care, maintain awareness for personal and patient safety, complete accurate reports, forms and documentation, clean and maintain vehicles, equipment, and building facilities per established protocol, maintain inventory of supplies and restock as necessary, and cover the duties of the EMS Director in their absence. One to two years related experience and/or training preferred but not required. Must have a valid driver’s license, Kansas certification as an EMT or AEMT. Pre-employment physical, TB skin test and drug screening required.
