Position Summary & Responsibilities:

This position will remain posted until filled.

Physically measure grain in elevators and flat storage buildings. Inventory all gains and inspect for quality, housekeeping practices and safety conditions.
Audit grain records of warehouse facilities consisting of open storage accounts, deferred pricing or deferred payment contracts. Spot check scale tickets. Check all negotiable warehouse receipts used and unused, monthly stock statements, insurance reports and thoroughly reviews the Daily Position Report regarding collateral warehouse receipts. Review the warehouseman’s record keeping system to support proper financial knowledge. Procedure cut-off information at the beginning of an exam, such as date, hour, last in and out tickets used, warehouse receipts used, last check issued and last cars shipped. Complete a quick review of the Daily Position Report so nothing may be changed during the measurement.
Make facility maps with bin designations and capacities.
Document and report deficiencies, conduct follow-up exams to see if deficiencies were correct


Two (2) years’ experience in Grain Warehouse examinations, auditing, investigations, or enforcing Grain Warehouse laws preferred.  Education can be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Knowledge of Kansas Public Warehouse law and regulations relating to the storage of grain.
Ability to climb bins up to 120 ft. and work in cramped spaces.
Employee must have a valid Class C (or higher) Kansas driver’s license or equivalent license from another state. Employee is responsible to maintain an acceptable driving record to safely drive state vehicle and be willing and able to fulfill all job-related travel normally associated with this position.


Annual Salary Range: $37,918.40/Year
Hourly Pay Range: $18.23/Hour
