Position: Compliance & Internal Audit Assistant

Location: Hays, Kansas

Pay: $18.92 per hour | $325 sign-on bonus

Job Type: Full-Time | In-Person | 40 hrs/wk

Schedule: traditionally Monday – Friday; 8AM-5PM

What You’ll Do:

· Conduct internal audits in key operational areas, including cash handling, billing, payroll, human resources, accounts payable/receivable, and property tracking.

· Coordinate the Medical Staff Organization (MSO) process, ensuring timely and accurate management of related documentation and procedures.

· Support policy development by assisting in the review and revision of operations and personnel policies under the guidance of the Director of Administrative Operations.

· Assist with staff training by helping develop and deliver compliance-related education to Center staff.

· Track state-required clinical training to ensure all clinical staff remain in compliance with mandated education.

· Maintain and manage the Relias Learning system, including staff accounts, training assignments, and user support.

· Process returned mail and ensure that records are updated accordingly.

· Enter and manage data across various administrative and compliance-related systems.

· Collaborate with departments and teams across the Center to ensure smooth communication and coordinated efforts.

· Maintain professional and courteous relationships with all staff, supporting a respectful and productive workplace.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Must have post-secondary education in accounting or a related field.

· Must have above-average verbal and written communication skills.

· Must be proficient with technology, including computers, software applications, printers, scanners, and telephones. Microsoft Suite knowledge is a big plus.

· Must show commitment to continuous improvement and learning, especially in technology and systems.

· Must pass all required background checks and screenings.

About High Plains Mental Health Center

We are a Licensed Community Mental Health Center, Behavioral Health Clinic, and Licensed Substance Use Disorder treatment program for Northwest Kansas.  We offer counseling, therapy, substance use treatment, community-based support services and psychiatry services. We have six full-time offices and 20 additional service locations. Telehealth services are widely available.

We proudly serve 20 counties which include 19,000 square miles in Northwest Kansas, since 1964.  High Plains is a non-profit organization and one of the 26 Licensed Community Mental Health Centers in Kansas.
