The City of Russell is seeking professional and community-oriented individuals for a full-time Water Plant Operator.

This position includes the operation, analysis, and general maintenance of the City of Russell’s Water Production systems which result in the delivery of safe and clean drinking water for our community. The employee will be provided on-the-job training with opportunities for certification and continuing education and must be willing to obtain at least a Class I Water Operator Certification after one year in the position. Applicant must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. and have a valid Driver’s License. Employee must have a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Air Brakes or higher or be able to obtain one within six months of hire. Applicants must also establish residency in Russell County 6 months from hire date. Pre-employment drug screening and job placement assessment are required.
