The City of Norton, Kansas, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of City Clerk. Under the direction of the City Administrator, supervises and participates in the operation of the City Office, including overseeing utility billing, financial accounting, payroll, licensing, and maintaining the budget and official records of the City.
Qualified candidate must be detail oriented, have strong communication skills, budgetary and accounting knowledge, and supervisory experience. The position requires any combination of training and experience equivalent to 2 years of college, with emphasis in accounting, bookkeeping, office management or related field. Four years of progressively responsible experience in governmental financing and accounting preferred. Salary based on qualifications, plus excellent benefit package, including vacation, sick leave, discretionary days, medical insurance, KPERS, deferred compensation and cafeteria plan.
Position open until filled. Must reside in the City of Norton within two months of date of hire.
