VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER VACANCIES

The City of Hays is looking for volunteer Firefighters. If you are looking for a rewarding hands-on career, this is the job for you!

Volunteer Firefighters receive training to qualify as a Firefighter I and Emergency Medical Technician as well as other in-house training and will respond to calls.

REQUIREMENTS
Valid driver’s license & High School Degree or GED required. Fire Certifications, a technical degree or some college credit preferred but not required. All Firefighters must establish their primary residence within the approved district within six-months of appointment. Job offers contingent on pre-employment physical exam & drug screening.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Volunteer Firefighters are given a monthly stipend of $50.

APTITUDE AND PHYSICAL TEST DATE
A test date is set for November 13, 2021 beginning at 9:00 a.m. Additional test dates may be added if needed. Interested applicants must attend a test date after completing their online application in order to continue on in the hiring process. Applicants will receive more information about the testing process after the application is received.
