Job Description

The City of Dodge City is accepting applications for a temporary Accounting/Finance Intern at City Hall. Starting wage is $15.00 per hour. Position will work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. This position does not qualify for a benefit package.

The duties described below are indicative of what the Accounting/Finance Intern may be asked to perform; other duties may be assigned:

• Assist with month-end financial reports
• Help with accounts receivable, payable and bank statement reconciliations
• Assist with audits
• Data entry
• Special Projects
• Assist with grant reporting and maintaining grant documentation
• Assist with updating spreadsheets for various special districts

Position requires High School diploma or equivalency. Ability to operate a computer and proficient in Microsoft Office applications along with standard office equipment is required. Customer service skills or office experience preferred or a combination of experience and education in business, finance, economics or accounting majors.
