Full-Time Maintenance Worker I – Forestry/Landscape Parks and Facilities Department
The City of Dodge City is accepting applications for Maintenance Worker I in the Landscape and Forestry Division. The position performs manual labor in the maintenance and care of trees and landscaping on city properties. Duties include: planting, mulching, weeding, watering, trimming with focus on the downtown and Wright Park areas; maintenance/cleaning of Hoover Pavilion; trash/litter pickup.
Tree care, landscape maintenance, sprinkler irrigation and/or pesticide application experience preferred, with good customer service skills. A minimum of one (1) year experience in one of these areas required. Duties require physical work, lifting and manipulating heavy weights (45 lbs. & up) frequently. A valid Kansas driver’s license with good driving record is required. The ability to obtain a Class B CDL with air-brake endorsement.
Starting salary is $13.13 per hour or $27,310 annually. Salary range for this position is $13.13 – $18.38 per hour, DOQ, with full-time benefit package, including health/dental insurance, KPERS retirement, vacation, sick leave and holidays. Position works a minimum of 40 hours per week, non-exempt.
