Full-Time Lab Technician Trainee
Our Generation Laboratory department is looking to hire and train a Lab Technician! You’ll get to apply your knowledge of science and laboratory testing procedures and experience career growth with this opportunity.
In this position, you’ll receive extensive training to learn how to support the laboratory functions for the generation operations fleet. You’ll learn something new every day and constantly gain more knowledge. You’ll begin as a Trainee on a day shift schedule, then progress to higher level positions with a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.

Complete comprehensive classroom and on-the-job training program. Assist with performing various chemical and physical lab processes and procedures as well as the operation of station equipment, under direct supervision, to ensure the safety and efficient operation of laboratory and operational functions and activities.
Post high school education in a science field and two years practical water treatment equipment and analytical testing methods experience in an industrial environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bachelor degree in a science field is preferred.
Successful completion of the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Plant Operator Selection System (POSS) Test.
Able to work effectively on an independent basis and cooperatively with a team.

The required tests have been developed by the Edison Electric Institute (EEI), a trade association of investor-owned electric utility companies. The username and password are both sunflower. Practice tests provide sample questions and detailed discussions of the correct answers. It’s important to take the practice test as you would the actual one, with similar intensity and concentration. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer.
